It wasn't a bird, it wasn't a plane and it sure wasn't Chinese lanterns.

That much Carole Burns knows. But the Rockwood resident is convinced something peculiar took to the skies Saturday night.

Burns was in her living room at about 10:50 p.m. Saturday when she spotted three bright lights flashing through her blinds.

Perplexed, Burns stepped onto her deck, which overlooks the Rockwood Conservation Area.

"I thought, that's not where the stars are at night, so what the hell is that?" she recalled Tuesday.

The lights resembled massive orange orbs full of "fiery energy," she said. Each light was about 12 metres tall and 12 metres wide. The three lights were stacked vertically 15 metres apart.
