Villagers in UP's Bahraich face night-time wolf attacks, mostly children among 9 deaths. The attacks have led villagers to keep watch at night with iron rods, sticks, and torches while the women sleep with their children tied to their sarees for safety. Drone footage shows wolves roaming in areas near the affected villages. About 30 villages located in the Terai region of the Ghaghra Riverbed have been dealing with this issue for the past one and a half months. According to reports, nine people, mostly children aged 1 to 8 years, have been killed since March 2024. Of the nine killings, seven occurred in the past 40 days (July 17 to August 26).
