Tales of Bigfoot sightings go back to the 19th century and have occurred in nations around the globe.
The creature goes by at least 58 different names including Sasquatch, Yeti, Wendigo, Grassman, and Monkey Man.
There have been hundreds of these encounters over the years, but on rare occasions the story that gets told become that of legend. This usually happens in regions of the world where the most Bigfoot sightings occur.
One of these areas is California’s Mendocino County.
Back in 1963, a group of children camping at Piercy’s Cooks Valley Campground were playing on the playground there when they noticed a “God-awful smell,” according to MendoFever.
Trailing the smell, a mixture of rotting deer carcass and skunk, the kids ended up coming face to face with Bigfoot.
