One big question many people have in life is whether we are truly alone in the universe.
Across the globe there have been many reported unidentified flying objects (UFOs) sightings in the sky and unexplained happenings which just don't make sense.
Scientists are yet to prove beyond any doubt that alien life does exist, but claims of seeing extra-terrestrial beings and UFOs are often reported.
Some of these claims - although questionable - have been officially recorded, collated and published on the government's website for UFO sightings over the United Kingdom between 1997 and 2009.
In Merseyside there were 33 sightings reported officially during this period.
Some of the reports are more detailed then some and range from bright lights to triangular and star shape objects in the sky.
