Although the abstract below is similar to what I am proposing, the authors' model is not good enough, because we are bounded by both a two dimensional past particle horizon and a future event horizon. Since signals cannot propagate outside the light cone here, it is our future horizon that must act retro-causally as the Wheeler-Feynman total absorber to explain The Arrow of Time advancing from past to future. This sounds paradoxical at first. I add that the hologram screen is our future asymptotically constant de Sitter event horizon that provides the required Unruh temperature/acceleration ~ c^2/RH ~ 1 nanometer/sec^2.

Abstract: To accommodate the observed accelerated expansion of the universe, one popular idea is to invoke a driving term in the Friedmann-Lemaitre equation of dark energy which must then comprise 70% of the present cosmological energy density. We propose an alternative interpretation which takes into account the temperature intrinsic to the information holographically stored on the screen which is the surface of the universe. Dark energy is thereby obviated and the acceleration is due to an entropic force naturally arising from the information storage on a surface screen. We consider an additional quantitative approach based upon the entropy and surface terms usually neglected in general relativity and show that this leads to the entropic accelerating universe.
