The NASA-funded National Space Biomedical Research Institute (NSBRI) plans to establish the Center for Space Radiation Research in a three-year, $6-million systematic study of the acute effects on humans of high-energy exposure from solar and cosmic sources during future deep-space missions.
The initiative will examine the long term, or degenerative, effects on the human cardiovascular and circulatory systems as well.
It's a safe bet that they will find that long duration space travel is devastating to human physiology, and psychology as well. To read more, click here.
