Jeff Bezos is best known for pioneering the Internet. Twenty years back he founded Amazon.com in a Seattle, WA, garage and has built it into the web’s biggest powerhouse.
As a result, Bezos is one of the world’s richest people, ranked 12th on the most recent (2013) Forbes 400 list of wealthiest Americans with an estimated net worth of $27.2 billion.
More of a secret is that Bezos, like other billionaire baby boomers including Elon Musk and Sir Richard Branson, is a player in the space industry. His Blue Origin LLC is looking to compete with both SpaceX and Virgin Galactic Airways for business in the private sector.
