Not to let the air out of the room, but there is currently a shortage of a natural resource that could lead to a plethora of problems in the medical field for the foreseeable future, according to experts.
Helium, the same gas used to entertain through the use of balloons and voices similar to those of the Chipmunks and munchkins in “The Wizard of Oz”, is also used in the medical field for MRIs.
Bradley University Chemistry Professor Max Taylor said it is just a matter of time before overuse and lack of conservation of the gas could spell disaster for the much more important medical field.
